With a poor wind forecast for the weekend we decided to go up to pick up a xantos I bought off ebay weeks ago for £42 :) We left on Friday and after visiting Mags Dad in Bury - he is a very poorly old thing :( we picked up the board and were parked up at the Watersports centre at Holme Pierpont by late afternoon. We watched the kayaks at the white water centre and then had fish and chips and stayed the night by the Trent in the centre par park !!! After breakfast on Saturday we took the bikes for a long spin, starting off by the lock, past the kayaks along the mile + rowing course watching the cable tow and then on to the banks of the Trent. We pasted Nottingham Forests ground went over the river and found the Nottingham and Beesten canal and went miles along this through the centre of Nottingham which was great :) We had dinner at a canal side bar and made it back to the van mid afternoon in time to watch the dinghy racing on the river !!! We then moved onto Rutland for our second night getting there just in time to see the sunset - so a very unexpected day which was great fun !!!
